Before I get distracted (oh, look! There’s a bunny!) or forget…I’d like to introduce you to Falcon, born Peregrine, Rose.
Falcon’s the fifteen year old daughter of the captain of the king’s guard. Idolizing her brave and noble father, she wants more than anything in the world to be just like him. She’s not interested in being a wife or mother when she grows up, though she loves and cherishes her own mother, a talented, generous wise woman. Falcon dreams of wielding her own sword in service to the king, just like her father.
Ripped from a life of comfort and security by the murder of her parents, she takes to the road on her father’s magnificent mare, his blood-stained blade wrapped carefully in her bedroll. With tears streaming down her face and a fire for revenge smoldering in her breast, she sets out on an adventure that will propel her to a destiny greater than anything she could ever imagine.
