Sorry for the ear worm; I couldn’t help myself. LOL! I have this really cool website, which I do very little with, so I decided to play a bit. Let’s get to know each other! (Yes, feel free to comment, I’m not talking to myself this time. LOL!)
So yes, I’m a published author with seven books currently on the market. I have a very rich life in my imagination, real life, not so much. LOL! But I suspect that’s the way with plenty of us. I write fantasy fiction, romantasy, paranormal mystery, sword & sorcery adventure and there’s probably some other terms that apply to the worlds and characters I create. I have a confession to make, by the way…I don’t write to sell books. I write because I love the art and the practice. I love the artistry of crafting a story that transports the reader into worlds of magick, mysteries, and characters they can fall in love (or hate) with. I don’t ‘write to market’ and my goal is not to rake in loads of money or reach a best-seller’s list. I just hope to reach like-minded people, readers who appreciate disappearing into a story the way I do myself.
I grew up reading fiction, discovering Stephen King’s ‘Salem’s Lot and then ‘Carrie’, fairly early on, and that eventually tiptoed me into fantasy. A teacher loaned me her copy of Tolkien’s “The Hobbit” and “Lord of the Rings” in high school and I was so hooked! I wanted desperately to saddle a horse, or pony, sling my belongings across its rump, don a cloak, and ride off across the fields to adventures beyond imagining. Alas, I was never fortunate enough to experience that in this lifetime, but my imagination expanded, colored richly, and let me enjoy what reality denied me. LOL! I wrote Falcon’s Flight and Falcon’s Dream as homage to Tolkien and the amazingly limitless worlds he opened up for me.
The 21st Century Vampire series came about simply because…I wanted to share some good, old-fashioned, escapist fun. It’s a little spicy, has some rather, erm, well…racy scenes, but they’re vampires so they’re not held to our standards of decent behavior. (Think about it, if you lived for hundreds of years would you be worried about some passing but intensely intimate dalliances? Don’t worry, I don’t expect an answer. LOL!)
If you’re interested, I thought I MIGHT invite my characters to share some of their insights and thoughts here on this platform. Who knows? Catherine Alexander-Blair du Montjean might pop in for a little sweet tea and spicy talk. Or Falcon and Abra might rush through, swords drawn, and have a brief moment to share what’s happening in their world. If she’s in the mood, even Timber Gray may pop in between classes to update everyone on how things are going in Lincoln, Indiana.
Rest assured, I won’t be flooding your email boxes. Just thought it might be nice to be in touch. Please, feel free to comment, introduce yourself, share a smidgen if you’re so inclined.
Bright blessings,
T.S. Mos
